My biggest trout EVER!!! It was June, 2002 and the water had been running for months on the Norfork. My neighbor and I had hooked up with several browns over 10 pounds in the previous week, but they were schooling us. I got lucky on this one, and the brown measured 26-inches in length and had a girth of 20-inches. The "formula" says this one weighed 13 pounds...I firmly believe that's fair.

A few years back we finally got a little low water by Bull Shoals Dam after a long high water run. Conditions were "still", which can be tough, but on this day a good drift would hook a big fish. I've caught bigger cutts, but I have no pics. Hopefully someone will get a better one soon. This fish was 20-inches and hit a scud.

Last spring one of my clients hooked a true once-in-a-lifetime trout. This 18-incher would equal my best brook ever which was caught on the Norfork. What makes this one so special is that we got it on the White River, right by the Bull Shoals Dam. This could be the biggest brookie caught on the White River in years.

One nice 'bow (below)

One of my nicer 'bows ever, this 23-inch beauty took a scud in calm conditions a few summers back. I'll never forget the way this fish would swim up or downstream right near the surface...it looked like a submarine in the placid water. This isn't my biggest rainbow, but I'll take a five pound trout any day.

A long and pretty cutthroat

This 22-inch cutthroat was taken below Bull Shoals Dam (3/6/05) on a #16 olive scud. Conditions were calm, but the big fish were biting anyway. The picture doesn't do this fish justice...it was a beast. Caught on 6x tippet during still conditions, this fish is a true accomplishement considering the area it was hooked. Most big cutthroats are caught in the spring and fall, and many take dry flies greedily.
